Fork Guy Backups
Fork Guy Backups is a private, internal utility operated by Fork Guy for storing encrypted off-site backups of Fork Guy's own application data.
This is not a public product and is not available for anyone else to install or use. It exists solely to let Fork Guy's own systems upload encrypted backup archives to a dedicated folder in Fork Guy's own Google Drive account, and later retrieve them for disaster-recovery testing or an actual restore.
What it does
- Creates and manages files inside one dedicated folder ("ForkGuy-Backups") that it creates in Google Drive; it only accesses backup files created by this utility.
- Every file it uploads is already encrypted (using the open-source
ageencryption tool) before it ever reaches Google Drive — unencrypted backup content is never sent to Google or stored there. - Because it only ever works with files it creates itself, it never reads or modifies anything else already in the connected Google account.
What it does not do
- It is not installed by, or available to, the public.
- It does not access Gmail, Google Photos, Calendar, or any other Google service.
- It never opens, selects, or modifies a file, folder, or document in Google Drive other than the ones it creates itself. (See the privacy policy for the precise scope this is built on.)
